Multimedia and Interactivity
It is a combination of the influence of people who help to improve the interaction between companies by using communicative media such as text, video, audio and etc.
Interactivity
A computer-delivered electronic system that allows us to navigate, integrate, and manipulate different types of media such as text, sounds, video, computer graphics, and animations. And also, we could directly send and receive messages in several ways, and with that, we could accomplish easily and engage what we’re looking for.
Multimedia
It refers to any data of a computer that can be shown using music, video, or animation in conjunction with traditional media. This data can be processed digitally, represented, stored, and transmitted.
These are the basic elements of multimedia:
Text
Characters It is used to construct sentences, phrases, and paragraphs.
Graphic
Digital representation of non-textual material, such as illustrations, charts or photographs.
Animation
It is a set of graphics that generate an impression of motion.
Video
A digital image that is played back at speeds of 15 to 30 frames per second and provides the illusion of continuous motion.
Audio
It is some sort of rhythm, voice, or some other sound.
Two Categories of Multimedia:
1. Linear Multimedia

It has no navigational features and follows a chronological timeline. A fixed message can be useful to send.
Example: Video Presentation
2. Non-linear multimedia

It grants full access to all components of multimedia in any order.
Example: Hypermedia like games
Multimedia Contents:
1. Video

It’s a collection of motion pictures that are broadcast on television or viewed on a screen. You can upload your own video to video-sharing sites like YouTube.

2. Sound, Music, or Audio

It is anything for which you can listen or be heard.
Example: Spotify
3. Online Games

Users used to enjoy browser-based games like those found on Y8.com and Facebook before Mobile Legends. Browser-based games can be played without having to install them on your device.
4. Online Test

Online survey forms and tests that automatically display the results when finished. You can try: 5 Love Languages and 16 Personalities
5. Courseware

Online courses that simulate the classroom online. TESDA offers online courses that can be done at home.

6. PodCast

This portmanteau combines the words “iPod” and “broadcast.” A user can download an episodic sequence of digital audio or text files to their personal device for listening.

It is a digital video that can be downloaded from the Internet and played and seen on a device.
Example: YouTube series/shows like Good Mythical Morning, Facebook live streaming videos.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Multimedia:
Advantages:
✓ It is very user-friendly.
✓ It is multi-sensorial.
✓ It is integrated and interactive.
✓ It is flexible.
✓ It can be used for a wide variety of audiences.
Disadvantages:
- Information overload
- It takes time to compile.
- It can be expensive.
- Too much makes it impractical.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
